Hello there, [NICKNAME GOES HERE],
Welcome this week to my new subscribers and I hope you enjoy your time hanging with us. For you and everyone I do plan on putting up my old newsletters for everyone to access and I will hopefully get around to that soon.
If you're a user of ChatGPT Plus then this week you may have noticed that the option to use Bing search was removed. This was announced as a temporary measure to make some fixes. It appears this was instigated because users were able to bypass paywalls in sites by asking ChatGPT to do it. As a "beta" feature we have to expect these things to happen.
It shows how fast-paced these things are moving, it was only a relatively new feature to begin with and I found I was already using it as my default way to do searching. Giving summaries and relevant information without trying to get through pages of distractions. It feels like a significant tool has been removed for me and I look forward to its return.
Keep in mind if you are a plus user that you have access to a growing list of plugins that include searching specific datasets and webpages. For example if you want to search for AI tools there are at least two plugins specifically for that.
This has me thinking about other AI tools and especially in different domains (such as Midjourney for creating images). But this is where you can still use something like ChatGPT. We're going to get meta now with giving prompts to make prompts...
Prompting AI tools has traditionally been a challenging task, demanding an in-depth understanding of AI’s logic and limitations. However, ChatGPT ushers in a new era of simplicity and efficiency for this task.
ChatGPT’s ability to process a vast range of data makes it an ideal partner for generating rich, diverse prompts suitable for AI image generation tools. With contextually accurate prompts, ChatGPT can direct these tools to yield the most fitting results.
Midjourney is a sophisticated AI tool designed to generate images based on specific prompts. Crafting the right prompts can seem daunting due to the open-ended nature of image generation, but with ChatGPT, this process becomes significantly more streamlined.
Imagine you wish Midjourney to generate an image of a serene forest at dawn. A simple command might look like: “Generate an image of a forest at dawn”. However, to ensure the image generated aligns with your vision, being more explicit and detailed in your prompt is crucial.
With ChatGPT, you can refine your prompt: “Generate an image of a dense pine forest bathed in the soft light of dawn. The forest floor should be covered in a light mist, and the sky should have hues of purple and orange.”
In this example it's not about what looks better necessarily but getting something more specific. The longer prompt here for me gives something with more character and less generic. At very least it may give you more ideas for what to try and how to describe.
ChatGPT can help optimize the prompt to get the most accurate results from Midjourney. Essentially, it acts as an intermediary, assisting humans to communicate more effectively with AI tools, in this case, an AI image generator.
The combination of ChatGPT and AI tools like Midjourney heralds a new era of AI use. Harnessing the potential of ChatGPT in prompt creation is a significant stride forward, leading us towards a future where AI integrates more seamlessly into our daily lives, aiding creativity, and expanding possibilities.
This is really about getting used to using AI to help you with whatever task you want, so whenever something gets you stuck, even if it's what prompts to use in ChatGPT... ask ChatGPT for prompts!
Until our next tech odyssey,
Andrew

Hey there, I want to make progress but I feel like I'm getting in my own way a lot, the following is going to seem like a lot of procrastinating and in a way it is. I think the difference this time is that I'm sharing it all and I can see the value longer term and that's what I'm thinking of now, things that will sustain and help me longer term, especially with income and security. Building My AI Council Been experimenting with something slightly unhinged this week — planning to create AI...
Hi Reader, So here we are — first proper newsletter back, and I'm already breaking my own rules by writing this the day before posting with an emptied cappuccino. Some things never change. But here's what has changed: I'm finally practicing what I've been preaching. 🤖 Automation Wizard (Coming Soon) I've spent the last few weeks setting up my automation consultancy properly. Not just the business side, but actually using every tool I recommend to clients. I'll be really leaning into an...
